Turns out that watching fish is making the little man very tired.
So after his shower I read him his bedtime story to send him off to sleep.
We're currently reading the Children's and Household Tales by the brothers Grimm (in German) - the very same copy my mum and dad used to read to me when I was little.

Today I've introduced the little man to some interesting new smells. We walked around the garden where I picked a few different herbs to let him have a little sniff. I think eucalyptus was his favourite. I am going to repeat this over the next few days, but one herb at the time.
The little creature seems really eager to discover new things and smell is usually the sense that's a bit neglected during play, so I am quite keen for him to explore that.
I am already excited about introducing him to the smells of Christmas: orange, cinnamon, pine ...

Tonight was the second night in a row where the little man managed to self settle and go to sleep by himself. Today was also the first day where he had two daytime naps, meaning I didn't just manage to enjoy a cup of tea, but also to make some yummy chokeberry cupcakes to go with it, although I am still not 100% sure what exactly chokeberries are.
Fingers crossed he can keep it up as the poor creature really has been struggling when it comes to sleep.

I've taken a long break from blogging recently because Jamie and I have been working on our biggest DIY project ever: the making and growing of a human being!!!!!
The little man arrived just over 11 weeks ago and has turned our up until then boring world completely upside down. He's absolutely perfect and we are in total awe of him.
For the virtual world of the world wide web he shall remain nameless and faceless and I will refer to him as the little man.
I am sure he wants to be a dragon slayer once he's grown up.
He's a very busy little man growing up bilingual, attending playgroups, massage, yoga, swimming, sensory play and so on. He fills his little tummy with mummy's milk and wears cloth on his bottom - well only 60% of the time for now.
During the rare occasions when he naps I try to relax with a biscuit and a cup of nursing tea.
We like to go for long walks on the beach. Yes, I seem to be babywearing more than using the pram, but I like having him close to me and you can't really take the buggy on the beach.
Yesterday the little pumpkin and I left daddy in bed to relax and went for a lovely meander around the field and in the garden to enjoy some autumn sun.
As the little man is getting all my attention at the moment I've not had chance to be creative recently - as I said it's very rare he sleeps. However I am full of ideas and as soon as there is an opportunity I shall try and make stuff again and hopefully share on here.
During my pregnancy I made a few things for myself (such as maternity skirts and breast pads) and plenty of things for the little man such as toys, blankets, cardies, booties, mittens, hats, bonnets, pants, bibs, dress-up items and so on. Hopefully I get chance to share some of the things I made in a post shortly.
