Wednesday night Jamie and I went to see Depeche Mode again for the second time this year. This time in Leeds. As I was right near the stage, near the centre, I enjoyed it even more than last time we saw them.
Unfortunately I didn't bring a camera, so all the photos are taken on my phone and therefore the quality isn't great.
Here's the set list for the concert in Leeds.
I got well giddy when Dave actually pointed at me and then touched his crotch during Black Celebration. I must have just been lucky being stood in a spot that's his usual point of focus, but there was no mistaking it - he was pointing at me! At the end of the song he even came back to the same spot, found me again and blew me a kiss. It's been three days since the concert and I'm still going on about it, I'm such a sad case.
Here's a video of it I found on YouTube, as it's not my recording you can't really work out where exactly he's pointing at, but I guess you get the idea.
Here's another one of a slightly better quality, but unfortunately it's not the full song.
I loved that they played Shake the Disease, one of my favourites, which they didn't play when we went to see them in Leipzig. The song was entirely performed by Martin. I still haven't quite worked out why he had an ordinary kitchen sieve attached to his microphone stand with a bit of gaffa tape. If anyone's got any idea I'd love to know.
