This weekend just gone I went to check on the neglected area behind our hedge. I'm planning on making use of it, putting up a compost heap and creating shelter for hedgehogs and insects. I'm going to wait a few more weeks before I start, just to make sure I don't disturb any hedgehogs that might still be hibernating. So, when I went to explore this hidden corner of my garden I discovered a forager's paradise: seemingly endless supplies of nettles and sticky weed.
I picked two big carrier bags of each weed with still loads of it left. Most other people would probably be rather frustrated by the fact that there are still that many weeds left in their garden, but I can't help smiling and thinking to myself that there is plenty more where that came from.
I've got lots of ideas what to do with it, probably more ideas than I have weeds, so I will post an update shortly of what I'm actually doing with all these free supplies.
