Potato Print Gift Wrap & A Warm Winter Jumper

I still had tons of parcel wrap left from when I made my kite, so I decided to turn it into some Christmas gift wrap. I cut a potato in half and made a tree and a star stamp out of it to print on the paper. I think it looks quite festive and rustic, so I might make some more, seeing that I still have another roll of parcel paper.


When I was looking through my stash to find some yarn for a Christmas present I am working on at the moment, I came across a sweater that I finished knitting almost two years ago but that I never actually assembled. I'd totally forgotten about it until it literally fell on me. Sewing the pieces together and weaving in the lose end didn't actually take that long and I now have a cosy, warm jumper to get me through winter.


Over all I had a very cosy weekend: the weather outside was miserable while two of my favourite movies were on telly - what more can you ask for? So I spend Saturday afternoon knitting while watching "Journey to the Center of the Earth" (the 1959 version of course) and Sunday afternoon knitting and watching "The Secret Garden". Needless to say, I now want a tam like Mary's:
