Autumn Comfort Food

I started getting a cold again and was desperate for some comfort food, packed with goodness, to cheer me up and make me feel better.

I made some roast autumn vegetables: butternut squash, carrots, parsnips, celery, onions and a few sprigs of rosemary, sprinkled with olive oil, roasted in the oven for 40 minutes - yummy!

I used the same ingredients to make a warming autumn soup but replaced the rosemary with some curry powder. I'll be taking some of that to work tomorrow - can't wait for lunch time.

To go with the soup I made a crusty multi-grain bread.

For a sweet treat I made some carrot cake with cream cheese icing.

Last but not least I enjoyed a glass of my homemade greengage wine.
