Sorry, I'm late

I know it's been a few weeks since my last post and I never really wanted to neglect blogging but unfortunately I let it slip for a bit but now I'm back. For all of you who'd like to see what I've been up to all that time, here's a summary in pictures - lots and lots of pictures as it's been a while but I downsized them a little to reduce the page loading time.

I spent hour and hours filtering my nettle wine and finally bottled it.

The result tasted a bit strange at first and rather strong. I think it's because I allowed the yeast to ferment after all the sugar was used up. I tried to adjust it by adding a sugary solution but maybe not enough. Anyway if I mix it with some flavoured sparkling water it's absolutely delicious, so in the end it wasn't a waste of time and effort at all.

I went to Germany for a well deserved holiday to see my family and to go to my friend's wedding...

... where I caught the bouquet.

We went to the famous Bauhaus in Dessau which is not far from my Mum & Dad's house.

We spent a day in Berlin to do some sightseeing.

Inside the Sony Centre at Potsdamer Platz:

The Reichstag's building:

Where the Berlin Wall used to be - with one foot in the East and one in the West - quite a stretch!

A piece of the Berlin Wall:

The Brandenburg Gate...

...and the Perestroika on top.

The Berlin Dome and the TV tower:

Bullet holes from the war still visible on some buildings near the Spree:

The Karl Marx & Friedrich Engels monument - I didn't quite manage to climb up Karl Marx's lap:

The famous clock (that shows the time in all time zone around the world) at Alexander Square and the TV tower:

The gigantic TV tower:

An old GDR mosaic decorating the front of the "Haus des Lehrers":

The Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church...

...and some beautiful mosaics inside:

Back at my parent's house we went exploring and found this huge dragonfly...

...and leeches in their pond.

We went to a carboot sale where I found some amazing GDR knitting and crochet magazines from the 70s....

...and we went for walks.

Back in England I went to another wedding...

...and to a Wild West themed party:

I also prepared some chilli sherry from homegrown chilli peppers as a cold remedy for winter - which seems ages away:

Last but not least I've also got a couple of WIPs which will be revealed later but here's a quick preview:

I hope this post compensates for the recent lack of blogging. I will be back soon to tell you about my weekend - promised!
