Finished Owls and Ginger Cordial

I finally finished my owls sweater. I actually finished knitting it a while ago but was dreading adding all the button eyes which in the end didn't take me half a long as I expected. So I completed this on Good Friday but the weather hasn't been nice enough to take any pictures outdoors and when I finally did I was too busy to blog but now at last some photos of it. I must say I am really pleased with how it turned out and it's probably my favourite piece of clothing I ever made.

For the increases at the back I didn't knit through the back loop but worked them like a normal knit stitch through the front loop causing it to form little eyelets that I connected by cross-stitching some brown ribbon which I thought would look quite pretty but see for yourselves. Here are some shots of the back.

With the leftover yarn I started this crochet capelet as an alternative to a cardigan.

So, what else have I been up to these last few days? We went to a nearby farm for a long walk and to feed the animals.

I made some more butter to go with the last of the hot cross buns.

I found this little bottle of ginger compound in a health shop the other day which makes plenty of ginger cordial and once the cordial is diluted in water it makes even more of a nice refreshing drink so this is probably going to last me a few months.

  1. Your sweater is so adorable! I am a big fan of the owl cable pattern. I made some mittens with it, and I think everything with an owl cable is just soooooo cute. :D One day, I aspire to make a whole owl-y winter outfit.

  2. The sweater came out great!!

  3. You are very very talented!
